Our Mission
Our mission is to empower curious young minds to find their purpose, and to better the world through scientific and technological endeavours.
Our students benefit from small class sizes and individual learning programmes supported by master teachers.
This is a school for students who love to learn.
The Academy draws inspiration from the 80,000 Hours project (research conducted alongside academics at Oxford), which looks at future skills and careers that give the best opportunity to have a positive impact on the world.
Our students are equipped to thrive globally; characterised by the virtues of integrity, perseverance, excellence, courage, humility, and empathy.
The Academy is not just a school; it is a transformative journey, cultivating not only knowledge but also principles that will shape the creators of tomorrow.
Guiding Principles
Our commitment as school leaders is to learning first. In any decision we make around school operations we ask ourselves, "how will this affect student learning?".
Our students and staff strive for the virtues of:
- Integrity
"…is doing the right thing, even when no one is looking" - C.S. Lewis - Perseverance
We maintain continued effort, despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. - Excellence
Our work is completed at the highest standard and is an expression of our inner integrity. We have high expectations of ourselves and others in all aspects of school life. - Courage
We show mental or moral strength in the face of fear and difficulty. We ask challenging questions, and we face new challenges with bravery and resilience. - Humility
We have an appropriate sense of connectedness with nature and people. We are willing to learn from others and take on feedback to facilitate self-improvement. - Empathy
We are listeners and observers. We can change our frame of reference to view the world, emotions, and perspectives from someone else's point of view.
